DYER CHAPEL-Zeb Harvey Waller, age 81, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on April 18, 1943, Zeb's life is marked by dedication to his work, service to his country, and commitment to his family.
Zeb proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era, demonstrating a profound sense of duty and honor that carried throughout his life. After returning from his military service, he continued to serve others as a service technician at Amerigas of Cookeville, where he worked until his retirement.
He was of the Baptist faith, which echoed through his values of kindness, community, and resilience. Zeb's unwavering support and love for his family shone brightly in his relationships with his sons, Zeb Horace (Jennifer) Waller and Thomas Ray (Annette) Waller, as well as his stepson, Tony Carver, all of Cookeville, who was cherished in his life.
Zeb's legacy continues through his loving sisters, Nathel Dean Hawkins and Lucille Hunter, both of Cookeville, and a close-knit family that celebrates the strong bonds they shared. He was a proud grandfather to Taylor (Moriah) Waller, Jeremy Waller, Tanner Waller, Gracie (Alex) Cronk, and Liam Waller. Additionally, his heart expanded to include five great-grandchildren: Jake Waller, Rowen Parks, Zander Cronk, Maren Waller, and Emma Waller, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Zeb was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Horace Greely Waller, Sr. and Velma Uhles Waller, as well as his cherished wife, Bobbie Waller, siblings, Kathleen Bryant, Betty Harris, and H.G. "Bud" Waller, Jr., who together shaped the man he became.
As we reflect on Zeb Waller's life, we celebrate a man who was devoted to his family and his country, whose presence will be profoundly missed but whose memory will forever be a guiding light for all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
