Wilmer Weaver

BAXTER-Funeral services for Wilmer Weaver, 81 of Baxter, will be Friday, January 27 1 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in the Boma Community. Pastor Ted Kocher will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 to 7 PM and after 11 AM Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Weaver died Monday night, January 23, 2023 at Ascension St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

He was born June 12, 1941 in Virginia Beach, Virginia to the late Irvin M. and Mary Ann Lee Weaver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Yoder and Mary Alice Lennon; brothers, Mahlon, Clarence, Vernon and William "Bill" Weaver.

He was a retired carpenter.

Wilmer lived most of his life in Hartville, Ohio, retiring to Baxter in 2011. He attended Life Church in Cookeville.

Wilmer and Dorothy loved to travel, going to all 50 states, finishing with Hawaii in November of 2022. He enjoyed bird watching and photography. He loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed helping people.

Wilmer was a kind, gentle soul. He worked with the Mennonite Disaster Service, a non-profit based in Lancaster, PA on mission trips to Germany and South America.

Survivors include beloved wife of 58 years (Married April 11, 1964) Dorothy Miller Weaver of Baxter; sister, Katie Ann Miller of Goshen, IN; brother, Edwin Weaver of Cambridge, Ohio and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steve and Scott Weaver, Jamie Day, Joey Allen, Noah and Gabe Daugherty.
