Wilma Fuqua

Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Stewart Grogan Fuqua, 82 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, November 3 at 2 p.m. at Dodson Branch Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Clayton Lee, Jr. and Bro Tommy Benson officiating. Burial will follow in Dodson Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Saturday from 12p.m. until service time at the church. Mr. Fuqua died Wednesday afternoon, October 31, 2012 at Bethesda Health Care Center. She was born August 24, 1930 in Jackson County, TN to the late Lowery Waymon and Nola Jane Gaw Stewart. Mrs. Fuqua was a lifetime member at Dodson Branch Freewill Baptist Church. She was employed at Wilson Sporting Goods and later as a Sales Clerk at Peebles until her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, R.D. Grogan (who died February 18, 1981) and Lloyd Fuqua (who died September 12, 2002); five sisters, Zora Anderson Crane, Adell Mayberry, Clio Stewart, Cledith Smith McCulloch, and Margaret Gentry; and six brothers, Z.H. Stewart, Dawson Stewart, Oplis Stewart, Carson Stewart, Herbert (Tince) Stewart and Charlie Stewart. Mrs. Fuqua is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tommy Benson of Cookeville and Cheryl and Don Webb of Dayton, OH; two grandchildren, Chris (Lauren) Benson of Huntsville, AL , and Matt Benson of Cookeville, three great grandchildren, Anna, Veronica, and Meagan Benson; one brother, Fred (Donna) Stewart of Cookeville; two step-sons, Danny (Kathy) Fuqua and Kenny Fuqua; one step-daughter, Debbie Fuqua; and three step grandchildren, Adam, Brandon and Ryan Fuqua. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
