Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Ruth West, 91 of Algood, will be held Tuesday June 24 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Pat Smith and Pastor Jim Moore will officiate. Interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery. Mrs. West died Sunday morning June 22, 2014 in Signature Health Care of Putnam County. She was born April 4, 1923 in Overton County, Tennessee to the late William Albert and Bertha Peterman Needham. Mrs. West was a member of Algood United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was a homemaker and had worked a number of years for Algood IGA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L B West. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Howard Bilbrey; granddaughter, Sara Bilbrey all of Cookeville; brother and sister-in-law, J. Raleigh and Nola Mae Needham of Livingston, TN; four sisters-in-law, Nellie West of Algood, Georgia Lee Allen, Mildred Simcox both of Cookeville and Frances (Bruce) Roach of Algood; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. West family extends a special "THANK-YOU" to Dr. Darryl Richards and staff at Signature Health Care of Putnam County for their compassionate care. Honorary Pallbearers will be Algood United Methodist Church Fellowship Sunday School Class. Active Pallbearers will be Mrs. West nephews. Mrs. West Family will receive friends Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
