Willie Mae Burgess

Funeral service for Mrs. Willie Mae Burgess, age 90, of Madison, TN and formerly of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday February 9 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Tim Miles will officiate. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Burgess passed away Thursday February 7, 2019 in Madison, TN. She was born April 18, 1928 in Cookeville to the late Otha Franklin Goodwin and Zula Hedgecough Goodwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vestal Burgess; two sisters, Maggie Brown and Joyce Hughes; two brothers, Howard and Ralph Goodwin. She is survived by two nieces, Faye Yancy and husband Garrett of Madison, and Barbara Honeycutt of Algood; and nephews, Jerry Goodwin, Dale Hughes, Randy Brown and Terry Brown.
