Willie Belle Snell

Mrs. Willie Belle Snell, age 97 of Cookeville, passed away Wednesday evening June 24, 2020 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born Monday November 27, 1922 in Athens, AL to the late William Alexander and Norma Dell Shockley Black. Willie Belle was a retired Sales Associate with Sears and Roebuck with 30 years of service. After moving to Cookeville, she and her late husband owned and operated Keep-it-Kleen Cleaning Company for a number of years. She has been a life-long member of the Church of Christ and has attended Algood Church of Christ since 1994. Willie Belle had a Heart of Gold and was loved by all. She is survived by three sons, Clinton (Lisa) Snell of Athens, TN, Stephen Sparkman of Baker, FL, Jeffrey (Anissa) Sparkman of Cookeville; 11-grandchildren; 14-great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and brother, Roy Eugene Black of Nashville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Snell SR.; daughter, Norma Jean Hunter; brother, William Black; and three sisters, Illean Broadway, Mary Lou Roberts, and Roberta Candler Funeral services will be held Friday June 26 at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with John Chowning officiating. Friends are invited to come by the funeral home Friday from 5 p.m. until time of services to sign the guest book and pay their respects. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. Graveside services and interment will be Saturday June 27 at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville.
