Funeral services for Mr. Willie Hatten Arms Jr., age 89, of Algood, will be at 1 p.m. Friday September 29th at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Layman David Norris officiating. Interment will follow at Algood City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Arms passed away Wednesday morning September 27, 2017 at Signature of Putnam County. He was born June 27, 1928 in Clay County, TN to the late Willie Hatten Sr. and Audra Hawkins Arms. Mr. Arms was a veteran, having served in the US Air Force. He graduated from Tennessee Polytechnic Institute (TTU) in 1952 with a bachelor's degree in business. He served as manager of Putnam Farmer's Co-op until his retirement in 1993. Mr. Arms was a member of Algood United Methodist Church and a former member of the Algood Lions Club. He was an avid Duke University basketball fan and Atlanta Braves baseball fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Dwight Arms; daughter, Marcia Heady; and two sisters, Juanita Opal West and Lucille Mullinex. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Virginia Ann Cooper Arms; two daughters Ann Mitchell (Acworth, GA), and Jan Arms (Acworth, GA)., Son-in-laws David Mitchell, and Danny Heady, four grandchildren and spouses, Tracy (Patrick) Guyon de Chemilly, Stephen (Aimee) Warren, Hatten Mitchell, and Kimberly Heady, three great-grandchildren, Cooper Guyon de Chemilly, Robert Warren, and Aubrey Hunter, and our extended family members The Alvarez Family, Alonzo, Kim, and children. Pallbearers are Alonzo Alvarez, Danny Heady, David Mitchell, Hatten Mitchell, Patrick Guyon de Chemilly, Cooper Guyon de Chemilly, Stephen Warren, and Drew Crouch. Honorary pallbearers will be Kylee Crouch and Mr. Arms caregivers, Brooke Walker, Holly Langford, and Crissy Bechler. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
