Funeral services for Mr. William Lee Taulbee, 90 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, February 7th at 3 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. David McNeil will officiate. Interment, with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard, will follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Overton County, TN. Mr. Taulbee's family will receive friends Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Taulbee died Thursday evening, February 4, 2016 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, TN. William was born March 14, 1925 in Hazel Green, KY to the late Jeffrey and Lou Etta Patton Taulbee. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Following his service, he moved to Dayton, OH, where he worked as a foreman in various manufacturing facilities. He retired in 1990 and moved to Cookeville. He worked along side his wife at her daycare and was affectionately known as "Pa Bill" to many children. He enjoyed farming, was an avid reader and attended Officer's Chapel Community Church in Algood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Lawrence Taulbee, Clarence Taulbee, Geinevere Taulbee, Bryce Taulbee, Beach Taulbee, Flora Opal McCartney, Earnest Taulbee, Hazel Dunn, James Monroe Taulbee and Taylor Taulbee He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeanette Williams Taulbee; daughters, Deanna (Peter) Metts of Cookeville, Vicki (Mac) Henley of Cleveland, TN and Billie Jo (Jason) Dorris of Cookeville; grandchildren, Lauren Carole Metts, Christopher Lee Metts, Dailee Lloyd Metts and Claramae Rosalee Dorris; brother, BM Taulbee of Dayton, OH, sister, Rachel Tester of Aurora, CO, as well as a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, family and friends. Peter Metts, Christopher Metts, Jason Dorris, Mac Henley (honorary), Bige Jr. Williams, Elmer Williams and Marvin Williams will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Cookeville Regional Medical Center Foundation Cancer Care Fund, 1 Medical Center Boulevard, Cookeville, TN 38501.
