William Knox

Memorial service will be held at a later date for Mr. William Rouse Knox II, age 94 of Cookeville, died Sunday evening October 19, 2014 at Bethesda Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cookeville. Mr. Knox was born November 23, 1919 in Harrisburg, PA to the late William Rouse Knox Sr. and Grace Singer Knox. Mr. Knox was an US Army World War II veteran and served in the US Naval Reserves following his discharge from the Army. He was a retired Industrial Engineer at Lockheed Martin in Marietta, GA. He moved to Cookeville to be closer to family and attended Life Church in Cookeville. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying antique airplanes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jene Knox; brother, Donald Knox; and sister, Lois Rupert. He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Susan Knox of Cookeville; daughter and son-in-law, Anne Strait and Richard Bridges of Carlsbad, NM; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne Duke and Mel Miller of Mesa, AZ; two grandchildren, Christopher and wife Kristina Knox of Johnson City, TN, and Patrick Knox of Knoxville.
