BAXTER-Memorial service with military honors for William Henry "BUCK" Herald, 85 of Baxter, will be Tuesday, July 23 at 6 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 PM until service time. A private family interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery at a later date. Bro. Donnie Agee will officiate. Mr. Herald died Sunday, July 21, 2019 at his home in Baxter. He was born November 5, 1933 in DeKalb County, TN to the late Solon and Alga Butts Herald. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict serving 6 years. He served on the USS Hornet. He was a retired foreman in pipeline construction. Survivors include sister Frances O'Neil Hodges of Oak Ridge, brother and sister-in-law Eddie Ray and Sue Herald of Cookeville, nieces and nephews: Tammy Dronebarger, Grace Hodges, Mary Spahn and Jimmy Hodges.
