COOKEVILLE, TN-Mr. Wesley Ray Eberspeaker, age 88, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Wesley was born July 16, 1929 in Breckenridge, Michigan to the Ray and Belva Lockwood Eberspeaker. He was a graduate of Ithaca (MI) High School and attended Centeral Michigan University. A Veteran of the Korean Conflict, Wesley served in the US Army's 2nd Armored Division. Wesley worked as a production manager with Redman Industries, a job that led him to reside in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Texas, Michigan and North Carolina during his career. He and wife Betty moved to Cookeville in the summer of 2017. A true gentleman, Wesley was a devoted husband and active and admired father. He enjoyed camping, landscaping, gardening and deer and pheasant hunting. An active member of Main Street Methodist Church in Albemarle, NC, he served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the church's board of directors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Phylis Ruthenbeck; brother-in-law, Jack Ruthenback; and by brother, Jack Eberspeaker. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Jane Panik Eberspeaker; sons, Mark Eberspeaker of Grand Rapids, MI, David (Shari) Eberspeaker of Rock Hill, SC and Philip (Denise) Eberspeaker of Salisbury, MD; daughter, Teri (Don) Sloan of Cookeville, 11 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, brother, Ronald (Sandra) Eberspeaker of Calcaska, MI; and a sister, Norma (Fred) Sherman of Saginaw, MI. Memorial contributions are suggested to be made to Main Street United Methodist Church, 1100 W Main St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
