Wes Grubbs

Memorial services for Mr. Wesley Harrold Grubbs, age 81 of Cookeville and formerly of Marinette, WI, will be held Saturday, June 2nd at 2:00 p.m. at The Magnolia Room at Southern Hills Golf Course. He died suddenly Tuesday May 8, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born January 24, 1937 in Etta, MS to the late Boyce Wesley and Gladys O'dell Herring Grubbs. Wes worked as a mechanic on the Rock Island Railroad and was a member of the 701 Local Union in Chicago. He enjoyed big game hunting and all type of fishing, particularly Ice fishing in Marinette, WI. He moved to Cookeville in June of 2012 and has attended Stevens Street Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Huegel Grubbs and by sisters, Sarah Phillips and Zola Miller. He is survived by sisters, Cathleen Delane Stewart (Jesse) of Cookeville, Nadine Dianne Smith (Larry) of Rienzi, MS and Ruth Annis Woodard of Memphis, TN; and brother, James Ira Herring (Ann) of LasVegas, NV.
