Wayne Kohler

A Memorial Service for Wayne Anderson Kohler Jr., age 74, of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 22 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Wayne was born May 27, 1939 in Woodbury, New Jersey to the late Wayne A. Kohler Sr. and Adelaide Sheppard Kohler. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. Wayne was retired from public service with the Cookeville City Police Department where he worked in communications. He was a member of the Police Benevolent Association and the First United Methodist Church of Cookeville. Mr. Kohler is survived by his wife, Sandra, and six children; Douglas Kohler (wife Ryan) of Ashville N.C., Steven Kohler (wife Rebecca) of Murfreesboro TN, Andrew Kohler (fianc’ Emily) of Knoxville TN, Jeremy Huffman of Cookeville, Jason Huffman (wife Callie) of Olive Branch MS., and Mary Ledbetter (husband Michael) of Greenbrier TN. He is also survived by one sister, Ann Harrison (husband Richard) of Washington State, and ten grandchildren. Joseph Byrd and David Knox will be officiating the services.
