Funeral service for Mr. Waymon Edward Isom, 87 of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 12 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with Minister Maury Norman officiating. Interment will follow in the Isom Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. and again Thursday from 12 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Isom died suddenly, Monday afternoon, November 9, 2015 at his home. He was born September 11, 1928 in Cookeville to the late Bryan and Lelar Cash Isom. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Betty Jane Isom, and three sisters, Marjorie Elizabeth Isom, Magdalene McDonald, and Amy Jewell Williams. Mr. Isom was a member and elder at Mt. Herman Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Cookeville. He spent his life farming, growing tobacco, raising cattle, and selling the produce he grew. He had many great stories and enjoyed sharing them with family and friends. He is survived by his adored wife of 62 years, Louise Wooten Isom (whom he married December 25, 1952 in Cookeville); close friend who never left his side, Norman Pinkston; special friends, Al and Sue Parker; three sisters-in-law, Bonnie Allen, Ruth Allen, and Geneva Gaw, all of Cookeville; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. (931)526-6111
