Wanda Sue Dunn Livers, known affectionately to friends and family as Wanda, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2024, at the age of 67 in her hometown of Cookeville, Tennessee. Born on December 15, 1956, also in Cookeville, she spent her entire life as a beacon of love and kindness in the community she so cherished.
Wanda was the beloved daughter of the late Albert and Mildred Dunn and the devoted wife of the late James "Jim" Livers. Her life was a testament to enduring love and family values. Wanda's legacy continues through her children: sons, William and Gregory Livers, both of Cookeville, and daughter, Jessica Dietz of Baxter. She was a source of pride and joy for her sister, Debra Dunn Burden Maxwell of Baxter. Wanda's laughter and wisdom will live on in the hearts of her four grandchildren, Avery Dietz, Carolynn, Emily, and Drew Livers. She loved attending her grandchildren's activities; fishing, gardening and her Saturday UT parties.
Wanda's professional life was marked by her dedication to the Tennessee Community Services Agency (TN CSA), where she retired as was the juvenile diabetes program director and the Americorp director. She worked tirelessly to improve the lives of those within her community. Her commitment to service was evident in the countless hours she spent volunteering and advocating for those in need. Colleagues at TN CSA will remember Wanda for her unwavering compassion and for the camaraderie and support she provided to everyone around her.
Wanda was the epitome of a loving individual. Her warmth radiated to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She created a home that was a sanctuary of comfort, where laughter was abundant, and everyone was welcome. Wanda's love for her family was her greatest joy, and the memories created during family gatherings, holidays, and everyday moments will be cherished forever.
In the hearts of those who knew her, Wanda will be remembered as a woman of incredible warmth, boundless generosity, and deep faith. Her impact on her family, friends, and community will be felt for generations to come. Wanda's love and spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, even as we mourn her passing.
Services for Wanda will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 2 PM at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Sharp officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday May 7 from 5 Pm to 8 PM and again Wednesday 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be William Livers, Greg Livers, Dakota Dilldine, Dustin Dilldine, Shane Gantt, Ty Gantt, Joseph Meadows, Alex Meadows, BJ Upchurch and Jimmy Goff.
As the sun sets on a life so beautifully lived, we bid farewell to Wanda Sue Dunn Livers, a cherished soul who taught us the true meaning of love, family, and service. Though we are saddened by her departure from this earthly life, we take solace in knowing that her legacy will endure. Rest in peace, dear Wanda, until we meet again.
