Wanda Hurd

Private Family Funeral Services for Mrs. Wanda Sue Hurd, 67 of Cookeville, will be held at West Cemetery in the Burgess Falls Community. Mrs. Hurd died suddenly Tuesday April 22, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born May 2, 1946 in Cookeville to Mary Etta Farris Harris and the late Frank Benton Harris. A graduate of Central High School, Wanda worked as a telephone operator, as a receptionist at White Co. Hospital, and as an assembly worker at Red Cap. For the last 10 years, she has been a devoted caretaker to her beloved mother. She will be always be fondly remembered by her family as a loving daughter, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by son, Steve Ray Sadler, and by brother, Cecil Harris. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Becky Shannon Rushing and husband David; grandchildren, Monica Sadler and Joel Rushing; and by great grandchildren, Kai and Ava Stoglin, and Kloe Fowler all of Sparta, and by daughter-in-law Donna Jean Sadler.
