Graveside services with U.S. Navy Military Honors for Walter Robert "Bob"� Bell, Jr., of Algood, and formerly of Wheatridge, Colorado and Escondido, California will be held Friday, September 9 at 1 p.m. at Fort Logan VA National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. Mr. Bell joined our Heavenly Father on Friday, August 26, 2011 with his family by his side in Algood, TN. He was born January 17, 1925 in Brewer, Maine to the late Walter R. and Edith Bell. He served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Pharmacist"�s Mate First Class aboard the U.S.S. Shangri La. He was aboard the Shangri La for the first atomic tests on Bikini Atoll. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leta Mae Bell and son Michael R. Bell. Mr. Bell is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Ann and Mike Hogan of Buffalo Valley, TN; four grandchildren, Kelli (Eric) Graff, Kerri (Chris) Algood, Tammy (Robert) Depperschmidt and Erin (David) Bilbrey, seven great grandchildren and a sister Joan Warnshuis of Escondido, CA.
