V.W. Lacey

Graveside services with military honors for Viness Walter (V.W.) Lacey III, age 78 of Waverly, TN, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday December 29 at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Dr. Charles McCaskey will officiate. Mr. Lacey passed away Friday December 17, 2021 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN. He was born April 12, 1943 in Knoxville, TN to the late Viness Walter II and Idell Edith Wagers Lacey. Mr. Lacey was a US Army veteran. He was a retired mechanical engineer from GE. He is survived by his daughters, Shannon Leigh Taylor (husband, Daniel) of Nashville and Sandra Michele Linginfelter (husband, Donald) of Mt. Juliet, TN; sisters, Melba Jean Maxwell of Cookeville, Janice Kay Butler (husband, Cleo) of Coconut Beach, FL, Jennifer Lynn Stephenson (husband, Bill) of Lexington, KY, and Nora Jean Justice of Erlanger, KY; step-sister, Glenda Carole Peacher of Lexington, KY; brothers, Christopher Boone Lacey (wife, Pam) of Kingsport, TN, and Theodore Melton Lacey of Knoxville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Barry Leigh Lacey and Leon Edward Lacey; sister, Patricia Ann Lacey; a step-brother, Benjamin Franklin Peacher, Jr.; and brother-in-law, K.D.
