Vonda Millis

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Vonda Millis, age 85, of Nashville, will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, August 19 at Dyer Funeral Home with Bro. Buddy Reeder officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Millis passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville. She was born May 24, 1932 in Cookeville, TN. Mrs. Millis graduated from Belmont University in 1978 with an associate degree in nursing. She worked for a number of years as a registered nurse specializing in women's health at Baptist Hospital and also at Speciality MRI of Nashville. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Brown Millis M.D.; son and daughter-in-law, James Michael Millis M.D. and Janet C. Millis of Chicago, IL; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Millis Faust and Thomas W. Faust M.D. of Potomac, MD; four grandchildren, Thomas W. Faust Jr., Elizabeth Millis Faust, Michael Andrew Millis (wife, Cala O'Connor Millis), and Mary Katherine Millis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Gladys Lee Carr. Pallbearers will be Thomas W. Faust M.D., James Michael Millis M.D., Thomas W. Faust Jr., Michael Andrew Millis, Zach Pope, and Ronnie Newcomb.
