COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Virgle Thomas Grider, 74, of Baxter, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Stewart Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 28, at the funeral home. Mr. Grider died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born March 4, 1934, in Putnam County to the late Herman and Nancy Thomas Grider. Mr. Grider was a carpenter. His family includes a son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Diana Grider of Cookeville; a sister, Billie Palk of Cookeville; three brothers, Dillard Grider of Cookeville, Howard Grider of Gainesboro and Clarence Grider of Baxter; four grandchildren, Jason Grider and wife Jenny, Jeffrey Grider and wife Brandi and Hannah Grider, all of Cookeville, and Melinda Zimmerlee and husband William of White House; and one great-grandchild, Kylie Grider of Cookeville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett and Lilbern Grider, and a sister, Estelle Hutchins. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Bro. Johnny Fox will officiate at the services.
