Private graveside services and interment for Mrs. Virginia Hope Smith, 90 of Cookeville will be held Thursday, at Hartley Cemetery in Decatur County, Tennessee. Mrs. Smith died Monday evening, August 29, 2011 at her daughter"�s home in Cookeville. She was born May 1, 1921 in Dayton, Tennessee to the late Henry and Laura Bernice Smith Good. She was a homemaker and always a much loved mom to everyone who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joshua Thomas (J.T.) Smith; daughter, Donna M. Humes, son, Wesley L. Porter, two sisters, Opal Good and Emma Good, and two brothers, Calvin Good and Roy Good. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Candace & A.A. "Gus"� Woodul of Cookeville; grandchildren, Wesley Scott Porter, Eric (Ginger) Porter, Crystal Tully, Shaunda (Charles) Hughes, Wendi (Quinn) Jacob, and Robert (Maria) Woodul; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Boots Spooner of Battle Creek, MI; daughters-in-law, Becky Porter of Sugartree, TN and Rosemary Gearhart of St. Petersburg, FL; son-in-law, Hayman Lee Humes of Memphis; two nieces and one nephew, grand and great grandnieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith's family will receive friends Thursday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the Oakdale Funeral Home in Parsons.
