DYER CHAPEL-Virginia Lynn, a beloved matriarch and cherished community member, passed away peacefully at her residence in Cookeville, Tennessee, on Monday, October 21, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on August 24, 1942, in Cookeville, Virginia's life was rooted in the town she called home.

Virginia was known for her loving and joyful personality. A silly woman who never knew a frown, she radiated positivity and laughter wherever she went. Virginia had a deep love for hymns, often sharing her passion by singing with family and friends. A devoted wife, she was married to Kenneth Lynn for 64 wonderful years. Together, they built a life rich in love and family.

She is survived by her loving husband Kenneth Lynn, daughter Vickie Callahan, son Michael Lynn, grandchildren Elizabeth and Kevin Marengo, Brittany Lynn Simmons, and Jonathon Callahan. Virginia also took great pride in her two great-grandchildren, Savannah and Jackson Marengo, who brought her immense joy.

Virginia's strong Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a longtime member of the Fairview Church of Christ and exemplified what it meant to be a strong Christian lady, inspiring those around her with her steadfast devotion.

Throughout her life, Virginia enjoyed cooking for her family, delighting in the opportunity to bring her loved ones together around the table. Her caring spirit is evident in the countless meals and memories she created for her family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Arlis and Gillie Jackson Talley; her son Randy Lynn; her twin brother Jimmy Talley; and her sisters Glenda Faye Talley, Laura Marie Talley, and Barbara Geesling. Their memories, alongside Virginia's enduring legacy, will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A funeral service to honor Virginia will be at 2 PM Saturday October 26 at Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 AM until service time at 2 PM on Saturday. Virginia will be laid to rest at Smith Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Gary Anderson will officiate.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Ricky Lynn, Bill Ryan, David Geesling, Jonathan Callahan, Scotty Crawley and Tracy Stewart.
