Funeral services for Virginia Louise Johnson, 79, of Silver Point, will be held Saturday, October 6 at 1 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with interment to follow in West End Church of Christ Cemetery. Rev. Earl Dirkson and Rev. Floyd Cartwright will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday 12 noon until time of services at the funeral home. Ms. Johnson departed this life on Sunday morning, September 30, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. She was born March 4, 1933 in Putnam County, TN to the late Herman and Willie McKinley Johnson. Ms. Johnson was a member of West End Church of Christ. She worked for many years in housekeeping until she became disabled. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Johnson, two sons, Tommy Johnson and Ronnie Johnson and three brothers, Jay Willard Johnson, Willie Floyd Johnson and Gary Johnson. Ms. Johnson is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Linda and Floyd Cartwright, Judy and Johnnie Cullom all of Algood, Patsy and Bob Gist of Cookeville and Kathy Johnson of Silver Point; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Vivian Johnson of Silver Point; nine grandchildren, Willie (Tina) Maddux, III, Mitzi (Joey) Schibik-Cartwright, William (Sharon) Cartwright, Willie Gist, Jr., Micah (Chasity) Johnson, Brandon Gist, Nicholas Monroe Johnson, Jamacia Johnson and Austin Bailey; fourteen great grandchildren, one sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Willie Gardner of Nashville and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
