Virginia Alice Crouch age 87 died on Friday, December 14, 2018 after having been at the Sherrills Ford Hospice House in Sherrills Ford NC. She was born Sunday May 3, 1931 in Pickett County to the late Jesse Haskell and Wilma Anice Jarvis Coe. She married Bethel Crouch on April 23, 1948 in Rossville, GA. Born, educated and raised in Pickett County, she was a homemaker, raising four children. She and her husband lived in Ohio for over 30 years, along with stints in Nashville, TN, and later Fairfield, CT. Following retirement, they moved back to Cookeville TN where they resided for the past 30 years. During these years, she went to work at JC Penney, and worked at the Cookeville store for about 7 years. She and Bethel enjoyed traveling to see friends and family, wintering in Florida for several months, bird watching, and cooking her famous green fluff and Granny mac and cheese. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Cookeville. After Bethel's death, she resided at Morningside of Cookeville, and most recently in NC until her death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Coe sister Sandra Coe Strassle. She is survived by sisters Kathleen Holt and Dorothy Shelley, children Sherry (the late Lee) Weaver of Goshen, IN, Becky (Tom) Moore of Cookeville, TN; Scott Crouch of Cincinnati, OH; and Melissa (Steve) Hildebrand of Huntersville, NC; grandchildren, Michael Scott Weaver, Elisha Smith, Veronica, Nathaniel and Zachary Serwan, Joseph, Katie and Kristi Crouch and Claire and Grace Hildebrand, eight great grandchildren. Graveside services and interment will be held Wednesday December 19 at 11 a.m. at Beaty Cemetery in Byrdstown, TN with Pastor John Stone officiating. Virginia's family will receive friends following services at the cemetery.
