Violet Bullock

Funeral services for Mrs. Violet Lanell Bullock, age 101, of Warren, MI, and formerly of Cookeville, will be held Saturday March 7 at 1:00 pm at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Mrs. Bullock's grandson, Chaplain Scott Bullock will officiate. Interment will follow in the Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services. Mrs. Bullock passed away Saturday February 22, 2020 at her home in Warren, MI. She was born July 27, 1918 in Cookeville, TN to the late Robert and Emma Pritchard Rockwell. She married Dave H. Bullock also of Cookeville in June 1942 and following his departure for service moved to Detroit, MI during WWII and became a "Rosie the Riveter" to support the war effort. After the war, she returned to Cookeville. Later, the young family moved back to Detroit. She is survived by daughter, Sharon Williams of Warren, MI; two sons, David (Grace) Bullock of Greenville, SC, Robert Bullock of Warren, MI; sister, Nan Rice of Anderson, AL; 14 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Bullock; twin sister, Rosell Burton Richardson, sister, Maudine Verble Bilbrey; brothers, Tom and Alden Rockwell. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salem Cemetery, c/o Lynn Bullock, 999 Salem Church Road, Cookeville, TN 38501.
