Verlie Bowman

Funeral services for Mrs.Verlie Bowman, 81, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 am Saturday, December 8 from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro Charles West officiating. Interment will follow at Double Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 5 - 7 PM and Saturday 10 AM until service time at the funeal home. Mrs. Bowman died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 21, 1931 in Pembroke, NC to the late Lacy and Lena Scott Brewer. Mrs. Bowman was a member of McBroom Chapel Church of Christ. She was retired from Red Kap Industries with over 30 years of service. She loved being outdoors and gardening. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Herlin Nabarette and Merdis Wilkins. She is survived by her husband, Jesse Bowman; son, Larry Bowman; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Barry Gambrell, all of Cookeville; sister, Gert Locklear of North Carolina; and granddaughter, Shannon Gambrell. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
