Troy Smith

Troy Smith, of Rickman, passed away on April 19, 2024 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Born on November 30, 1932 in Manchester, Kentucky, Troy's 91 years of life were marked by his infectious humor, outgoing spirit, and an unwavering dedication to his family and passions.

Troy was a man who lived life to the fullest, embracing his role as a loving father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his sons, Troy Smith (Janeth) and Rickey Smith; daughters, Sue Boswell (Jerry) and Beck Emberton (Shaun); sisters, Wilma Boyatt (Joe) and Melissa Wolak (Dan). He was also the cherished patriarch to grandchildren Josh Vaughn, Maverick Emberton, Tristan Smith, Eli Smith, Kiara Smith, Ben Boswell, Axel Garcia, Chloe Nguyen, and Chris Harris, as well as great-grandchildren Morgan Banks, and Joseph and Wyatt Vaughn.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Grant Smith and Della Creech Smith, and his brother, J.C. Smith.

An avid hunter, auto sports and sports enthusiast,Troy found solace and joy in the great outdoors. Those who knew Troy would often find him recounting tales of his adventures.

His stories, often filled with mischievousness and memories of his childhood will be fondly retold and cherished by those who were fortunate enough to hear them.

A private service to honor and celebrate Troy's life will be held at a later date. It will be an intimate gathering, reflecting the privacy he valued, memories and honor the legacy of a man who was truly one of a kind.
