COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Travis Wade Lawson, a beloved husband, father, son, and friend passed away on November 17, 2024 at his residence in Cookeville, Tennessee. Born on April 5, 1989, he was dedicated to his family and serving his community.
After graduating from Red Boiling Springs High School in 2007, Travis began his career as an EMT with Putnam County Emergency Services, where he exemplified compassion and courage in supporting those in need. He also volunteered as a firefighter with the Putnam County Fire Department, showcasing his deep love for his community. In 2010, he transitioned into a role as a Quality Assurance Administrator at Community Options, where he continued to advocate for others.
His warm demeanor and quiet strength made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Travis could be described as a man after God's own heart, embodying kindness and humility in all aspects of his life. Recently ordained, he served as Associate Pastor at Salem Church, a place that became central to his life and faith.
Travis is survived by his loving wife, Sloan Elizabeth Bilbrey Lawson, whom he married on July 26, 2008, and their cherished daughter, Addison Grace Lawson. He leaves behind his parents, Tammie and Larry Lawson, and his brother, Joseph Lawson. He was also a proud uncle to his nephews, Liam Lawson, Braylon Miller and Kace Scott along with his niece Saylor Scott, who brought him much joy.
Travis was predeceased by his beloved grandparents, Billy and Kathryn York, and Perry and Frances Lawson. Their love and guidance undoubtedly shaped the kind-hearted man he became.
A funeral service honoring Travis will be held at 1pm Wednesday November 20 at Salem Church. Visitation for friends and family will be from 10am - 1pm. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Travis daughter's education: Addison Grace Lawson College Fund at Wilson Bank and Trust, 320 S. Jefferson Ave., Cookeville, TN 38501.
Travis' memory will live on through the countless lives he touched. His unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and profound love for his family and community will be remembered dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
