Funeral services for Mr. Tracey Bryan Welch, age 51, of Cookeville, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Mark Nealy officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in Overton County. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. and again Friday from 9 - 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Welch passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016. He was born April 17, 1965 in Cookeville to the late Lonzo and Janice Marie Fields Welch. Tracey was a Gulf War veteran having served in the US Army and TN Army National Guard. He attended Beaty Swamp Community Church in Overton County. Tracey's life revolved around his girls and sports. He spent many years playing, and umpiring softball, as well as coaching basketball. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Rena Nelson Welch, they married September 16, 1989 in Rickman, TN; two daughters, Amber West and husband Craig of Livingston, Tessa Welch and fiance Hunter White of Cookeville; brother and sister-in-law, Shane and Linda Welch of Cookeville; nephew, Spencer Welch; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Connie Nelson of Cookeville. Pallbearers are Waylon Ledbetter, Andy Parsons, Gerald Ferrell, Mickey Huckeby, Curt Huckeby, Allen Lewis, Terry Kingery, Ladell Medley, and Chris Langford. Honorary Pallbearers are Paul Hunt, Chris Story, Kyle Fisher, and Greg Parsons. Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
