Tony Horton

Funeral services for Mr. Anthony (Tony) Patrick Horton Sr., age 54, of Cookeville, will be held at 11am Saturday, February 7 at Stevens Street Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Frank officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 – 8 PM at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and again Saturday from 10 am until service time at the church. Tony died suddenly Sunday, February 1, 2015 in Brevard County, FL while vacation traveling. He was born September 30, 1960 in Nashville, TN to the late Phillip Benjamin Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Haywood Horton. Tony was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. He was an area manager with Averitt Express with over 27 years of service. Affectionately referred to as "Homie" by friends and teammates, Tony enjoyed coaching and playing baseball, softball, basketball, and golf. He also formerly served as a TSSAA umpire. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Leonard Horton; and sister, Mary Angela Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, LeeAnn Lamb Horton (whom he married June 29, 1996 in Nashville, TN); two sons TJ Horton, Brandon Horton and his fiancé, Caitlin Warren all of Cookeville; two daughters, Julie Horton of Maryville, TN and Cherish Horton of Cookeville; mother-in-law, Alice Lamb of Cookeville; step-mother, Glenda Horton of Nashville; two brothers and sister-in-law, Vince and Vicky Horton, Phillip Horton all of Nashville. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the CRMC Foundation, One Medical Center Blvd, Cookeville, TN 38501.
