Tony Fleenor

A Celebration of Life for Bro. Anthony (Tony) Eugene Fleenor, age 56, of Cookeville will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 14 at Stevens Street Baptist Church with Dr. Jimmy Arms and Rev. Kewon Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12 p.m. until service time at the church. Tony passed away suddenly Sunday evening, July 10, 2016 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born June 20, 1960 in Morristown, TN to Betty Lou Pridemore Fleenor McClain and the late Lester Eugene "Cabbage" Fleenor. Tony graduated from Morristown East High School in 1978. He received his Bachelor's Degree from TTU in 1992 in Political Science and History, and his Bachelor's in Education in 1994. Tony was employed at TRW in Rogersville, TN. After moving to Cookeville, he served in different capacities at several Baptist churches in the Cookeville area. He served as interim pastor at Wilhite Baptist Church, Bondecroft Baptist Church, and First Baptist Church Carthage. He also served as pastor at Cane Creek Baptist Church, director of the Care Center at Stevens Street Baptist Church, and manager of the Family Life Center at Fist Baptist Church Cookeville. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Karen Wice Fleenor (whom he married February 4, 1979 in Sevierville, TN); mother and stepfather, Betty Lou and Paul McClain of Morristown; son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Brooke Fleenor of Baxter; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Charles Jones of Cookeville; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Angie Fleenor of Morristown; and twelve grandchildren, Carter, Kairen, Chloe, Madison, Jacob, Parker, Lane, Maddox, Maeleigh, Jaxton, Terrance, & Gracie.
