Tomijo Brown

Funeral services for Mrs. Meredith ‘Tomijo' Brown, 90 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday May 25 at 4 p.m. at Sycamore Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Horace Burks and Frank Brown will officiate. Mrs. Brown died Friday morning May 23, 2014 in Tullahoma at Morning Point Assisted Living. She was born May 17, 1924 in Atlanta, GA to the late Hubert Smith and Faye Evelyn Ware White. Mrs. White was a homemaker and member of Sycamore Church of Christ. She provided tremendous, unwavering support to her husband and partner in ministry. Her desire to reunite with him in heaven has been fulfilled. Her legacy of love and service includes teaching the Bible to her grandchildren. She was a 1945 graduate of Tennessee Polytechnical Institute (TTU). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, T. Pierce Brown (who died August 1, 2008); sister, Jane Presley and brother, Hoke White. Survivors include two sons and daughters-n-law, Franklin Pierce (Connie) Brown of Tullahoma, TN and Hilary (Carole) Brown of Charlotte, TN; four grandchildren, Bryan Pierce Brown, Courtney (Emmanuel) Vaughn, Emily (Luke) Yaeger, Chelsea (Josh) Sudbury; and five great grandchildren: Jackson Vaughn, Jillianna Vaughn, Lila Yaeger, Ali Yaeger, and Jack Sudbury. Mrs. Brown's grandchildren and nephews will serve as pallbearers. The elders of Sycamore Church of Christ will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Brown's family will receive friends Sunday from 2 p.m. until service time at the church.
