Thomas Thurman Pryor

Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Thurman Pryor, age 78, of Cookeville, will be held Friday, May 23, 2014 at 2:00 pm. at the Allen’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with burial following in Allen’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home and again Friday from 12:00 noon until time of the service at the church. Mr. Pryor passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born April 29, 1936 in Sparta TN to the late Willie Clark Pryor and Jane Hawkins Pryor. Tom attended Allen’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and led the music and worked as a mechanic for over 60 years. Mr. Pryor is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth Pryor; one daughter, Pamela Sue Simmons, two grandchildren, Jason Neil (wife Elaine) Davis of Cookeville and Jennifer Camille (husband Andy) Julian of Sparta ; six great grandchildren, Ashtyn and Julian Davis, Payton, Gavin, Tucker and Tanner McCreless; One sister, Ozetta Hogg of Gainesboro. Mr. Pryor is also survived by several nieces, nephews, family, church family and a host of friends. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his brother, Thurstle Pryor. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Bro. Bobby Roberts, Jason Bryant and Ken Haney will officiate the service.
