Thomas Poole

February 11, 1953 — March 16, 2024

Thomas H. Poole, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2024, in Cookeville, Tennessee, at the age of 71. Born on February 11, 1953, in Jasper County, Georgia, Thomas was a man of integrity and warmth, whose life was a testament to the values of love, kindness, and hard work.

Thomas grew up in the rolling hills of Georgia, where he attended local schools and laid the foundation for a life of service and craftsmanship. After completing his education, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps, a commitment that would instill in him a sense of discipline and camaraderie that he carried throughout his life.

Upon returning to civilian life, Thomas honed his skills as a brick and block mason, a trade that not only showcased his meticulous nature but also his ability to create lasting structures, much like the enduring relationships he built with those around him. His work was not just a job; it was an art form that he approached with precision and pride.

In 1991, Thomas became a resident of Clay County, where he quickly became a beloved member of the community. His love for his family was evident to all who knew him. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Bonnie M. Poole of Cookeville, a loving father to his daughter, Guila Poole of Cookeville, and his son, Thomas H. Poole II and wife Nikki of Baxter. His joy was multiplied with the birth of his granddaughter, Kadence "Precious" Poole of Baxter, who brought him immeasurable happiness.

Thomas's brother, Danny Poole of Georgia, will remember him as a pillar of strength and kindness, a man who was always ready to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement.

Those who knew Thomas will remember him as a loving and kind individual, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. He was the embodiment of the word "handy," able to fix or build anything he set his mind to, and his legacy will live on in the many projects and lives he touched.

Thomas H. Poole's life was a beautiful mosaic of service, craftsmanship, and love. As we say farewell to this remarkable man, we celebrate the enduring impact he has left on his family, friends, and community. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, and his memory will be cherished forever.

Mr. Poole's wishes for cremation are being honored and no services will be held.
