A memorial service for Thelma May Moore, age 80 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1 p.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Rev. Joe Weatherly will officiate. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the church She died Sunday, October 9, 2016 at her residence. She was born September 19, 1936 in Montreal, Canada to the late George and Beatrice Merlin Helie. Friendly, humble, caring and giving, Thelma was a light to her family and friends. She was an active member of the Episcopal Church and has attended St. Michael's Church since moving to Cookeville in 2002. She served Al-Anon Family Groups for over 26 years. She loved cooking, entertaining and laughing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Grace Smith, Gladys Larrabee and Jonie Helie; and brothers, Russell Helie and Leonard Helie. She is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Carl Moore, Jr.; daughter, Suzanne Wright and husband David of Mt. Juliet; son, Joseph Kerr of Revere, Massachusetts; and by grandson, Brady Kerr.
