Terry Parker

Funeral services for Terry Owen Parker, 65, of Cookeville, will be held at 3 pm Saturday, July 7, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Frank and Dr. Jimmy Arms officiating. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 am until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Parker died suddenly Wednesday, July 4, 2012 in the Emergency Room of Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 24, 1946 in Lebanon, TN to the late Henry Owen and Eva Lena Worley Parker. Mr. Parker was a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church. He received his Undergraduate Degree in Secondary Education from MTSU and served as music teacher, band director and golf coach in Lebanon High School. He later moved to Cookeville and served as manager at several area restaurants, including Ponderosa, Cracker Barrel, and KFC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Jerry Jones Parker. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Gina McCrary Parker (whom he married in December 6, 1983 in Cookeville); two daughters, Shalena Mathews and husband Eric, and Tasia Parker, all of Cookeville; one sister, Kay Parker Talley and husband Larry of Lebanon, TN; nephew, Eric Maynard; and niece, Dena McDonald. Pallbearers will be Larry Talley, Eric Maynard, Eric Mathews, Jacob Brooks, Thomas Brooks, Dean Worley, Betsy Riley, Phillip McDonald, and Jimmy Phillips. Memorial contributions may be made to the family in lieu of flowers.
