Funeral services for Mrs. Teresa Marie McNabb, age 59, of Cookeville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18 at Cookeville First Christian Church with Rev. Hillier Duke officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at 11 a.m at First Christian Church. Private interment will be at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Teresa passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at her home in Cookeville. She was born June 29, 1957 in Lima, Ohio to Richard and Helen Sanders Barns of Sparta, TN. Teresa graduated from East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in 1981 at the top of her class with a double major in microbiology and dental hygiene. She worked as a dental hygienist until shortly before her son, Jonathan was born in 1987. From that point on, she worked as a full-time mom to her children and as a partner with Garry in their home and business interests. Selfless and hospitable, Teresa was known for her nurturing spirit and her love for people. As a mother, she was engaged with her children and was always ready to volunteer in their activities. She also loved to serve at First Christian Church where she was a long time member. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 35 years, Garry McNabb, whom she married June 20, 1981 in Knoxville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Kathryn McNabb of Nashville; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Jim Darter of Nashville; brother and sister-in-law, Richard Jr. and Jayne Barns of Cookeville; best friend, Shannon Collett and her husband, Dexter of Cookeville. Pallbearers will be Jason and Christopher Barns, Justin and Jared Matheney, Kristopher and Nathaniel Collett.
