Funeral services for Talmadge Allan Wallace, 79, of Cookeville, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 6, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Madden and Bro. Don Widener officiating. Interment, with Military Honors by the U. S. Navy Honor Guard, will follow in Palmer Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5 and again Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Mr. Wallace passed away Thursday evening, October 3, 2013 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitations-Masters in Algood. He was born September 26, 1934 in Putnam County to the late Lillard and Ocia Webb Wallace. Mr. Wallace was retired from the U. S. Navy with 20 years of service and retired a second time with 20 years of service as a civilian welder in the Navy Shipyards in Charleston, SC. He traveled the world twice and shared many fascinating stories with family and friends. He treasured his family, love George Jones and County Music and was an avid fisherman. He is survived by his wife Mary Dedmon Wallace (whom he married May 8, 2001 in Cookeville); two daughters, Karen (Jimmy) Buchanan, and Kylie S. Wallace all of Cookeville; son Devin M. Wallace of Cookeville; granddaughter Angel (David) Wiley of Johnson City; grandson Charles Buchanan of Cookeville; two great-grandsons Ulrich and Thatcher Wiley of Johnson City; sister Carolyn Pruitt and nephew Tony Pruitt both from Charleston, South Carolina. He is also survived by his three special buddies Ivan Robinson, Flody Dively, and Charles Young. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Herman Wallace.
