SUE ELROD BAXTER-Funeral services for Wilma Sue Elrod, 73 of Gainesboro, formerly of Baxter, will be Tuesday, December 13 at 2 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Mrs. Elrod passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 at her home in the Roaring River Community of Jackson County surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 2, 1943 in Putnam County to the late Brevis Dolphis and Minnie Lee Meadows Garrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Leonard Garrett and Howard Garrett. She loved being with family and friends, doing for others, making her house a home. She liked to shop and keep things clean and was a special wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include husband of 54 years Donal Elrod (Married February 8, 1962 in Putnam County)of Gainesboro, daughters and sons-in-law Donna and Randy Flatt of Cookeville, Carol and Jerry Williams of Buffalo Valley, Tammie and John Nash of Cadiz, KY, son Tim Elrod of Cookeville, sisters Chalis Riley of Evansville, IN, Freida Knight of Burlington, KY, Marlene Franklin of Cookeville and Rosie Frey of Mason, Ohio, brother Norbert Garrett of Livingston, grandchildren: Dustin, Derrick, Miranda and Savannah Dixon, Travis (Sandra) Williams, Jordan Williams, Nathan (Danielle) Nash, Nikki (Darren) Parks, Taylor Nash and Hannah Elrod, great-grandchildren: Aiden and Harper Dixon, Dawson Peden, Emma Rhodas, Tyler Nash, Abel Williams and Vincent Huenschemeyer. Active Pallbearers will be Travis and Jordan Williams, Nathan Nash, Allen Christian, Dustin Dixon and Darren Parks. Bro. Chris Ramsey and Bro. Jared Randolph will officiate.
