Stewart Love

A memorial service for Dr. Stewart Love, 85, of Cookeville, will be held Saturday August 8th at 3 p.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Whitney Mitchell will officiate. Dr. Love's family will receive friends Saturday from 2 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. He died Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born June 5, 1930 in Cambelltown, New Brunswick, Canada to the late William Bryce and Katherine Inglis Richey Love. Dr. Love received an undergraduate degree from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He received his medical degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.����� He studied anesthesia at McGill University in Toronto and completed his residency at Virginia Commonwealth University. He worked in private practice in New Brunswick, Delaware and Denton, TX before moving to Cookeville in 1982. He was the first anesthesiologist in Cookeville and was the founder of the Upper Cumberland Anesthesiology Associates where he worked until his retirement. He will be fondly remembered as a kind and humble gentleman. He loved to travel and enjoyed the many adventures he shared with his family. He was a member of Cookeville First United Methodist Church and attended the Pathfinders class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Love Brown and by a brother, Richey Love. His legacy includes his wife of 39 years, Vicki Hyberger Love (whom he married June 5, 1982 on Denton, TX); children, Brenda (Andy) Redpath of Baton Rouge, LA, Stephen (Laurie) Love of Houston, TX, Richard (Barbara) Love of Louisville, KY, Michael Love of Denton, TX, Kathleen Love of Corinth, TX, Allison Morris of Keller, TX, Dana Hyberger Lewis of Topeka, KS, Rebeca Hyberger Mahoney of Naples, FL, Tim (Emile) Love of Fort Worth, TX and Ann Hyberger Hyde of Prairie Village, KS, 30 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and by a brother, Harry Brown of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. Memorial contributions may be made to Cookeville Regional Medical Center Foundation, 1 Medical Center Boulevard, Cookeville, TN 38501and/or to the charity of your choice.
