Steve Hill

Funeral services for Steven Wayne Hill, age 61, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday September 5 at Life Church in Cookeville. Bro. Joe Hill II and Bro. Donnie Davidson will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hill Family Cemetery in the Cherry Creek Community of Putnam County. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the church from 4 - 8 p.m. and again Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time. Steve entered Heaven Saturday September 1, 2018. He was born April 24, 1957 in Cookeville to the late John (Pill) Holmes Hill and Jean Wilson Hill. Steve worked at Bob's Body Shop for almost 50 years. He started working for his uncle, Bob Hill, as a teenager. Steve lived an active life that included motorcycles, motocross, crossfit, outdoor cooking, and spending time at the lake. His life revolved around his wife Mitzi, his children, and granddaughters. Steve was willing to help anyone at any time, and any hour. He had a remarkable impact on his motocross family by being a mechanic, motivator, helper, and go to man. He was a dad to many and always there to help them fulfill their dreams. Steve had many children he was a father figure to, but three that he felt extremely close to are his nieces Hillary, Ali, and his cousin Dusty. All of whom he cared for very much. Steve is survived by his wife of 35 years, Mitzi Judd Hill, whom he married May 21, 1983 in Cookeville; two sons, Brody Hill of Cookeville, Chase (Britney) Hill of Knoxville; daughter, Paige Hill (Mason Young) of Cookeville, two sisters, Patty Masters and Renee Priest both of Cookeville; granddaughters, Ava and Aubrey Hill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Cynthia Hill. Pallbearers will be Steve Burnett, Jerry Poston, Rick Smith, Mike Holloway, Larry Cunningham, and Chris Isom. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Poston and Mark Allison. Memorial contributions may be made to the Steve Hill Fitness Memorial Fund c/o First Tennessee Bank is 389 W.
