Stephen Vokoun

BAXTER-Stephen Walter Vokoun, Jr. 76 of Silver Point, died Monday morning, November 18, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. He was born December 29, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Stephen Walter Vokoun, Sr. and Mildred Gaba Vokoun. Stephen served honorably in the Navy from 1961 to 1965. After the military, Stephen married his beloved wife, Bonnie, and lived with his loving family in Lombard, IL. He also resided in St. Charles, IL, Bonita Springs, FL, then in Silver Point, TN. Stephen was employed by Illinois Bell/Ameritech for 23 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He loved his family, and was a devoted husband, father, Papa, Uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Bonnie, Son Curt (Samantha) Vokoun of Sparta, TN, daughter Connie (William) Rake of Punta Gorda, FL., Loving Papa to Stephen Vokoun, Tanner Vokoun and Kyle Rake, sister Elaine Champagne of Prairieville, LA., he was a loving uncle to Nancy (Dan) Bradli, Ken (Jenni) Champagne, Peggy (Ralph) O'Neil and Steve (Meredith) Champagne.
