Funeral services for Mr. Shirley Cooper, 87, of Cookeville, will be held Thursday August 21 at 11 a.m. in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Mark Gaw will officiate. Interment will follow in the Honey Springs Cemetery in Overton Co. His family will receive friends Wednesday August 20th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. and again Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Mr. Cooper died Sunday August 17, 2014 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born October 16, 1926 in Monterey, TN to the Ambers Cooper and Nola White. He moved to Battle Creek, Michigan in the early 1950's. He worked for many on the Grand Trunk Western Railroad. He returned to Tennessee in 1996. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jack Cooper and by many brothers and sisters. He is survived by a nephew, Dolphus Cooper of Dunkirk, Indiana; grandchildren; and by many cousins. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers
