Sherry Burton

BAXTER-Sherry Lynn Harris Burton, 52 of Cookeville, formerly of Baxter, died Monday, March 21, 2022 at her home following an extended illness. Memorial gathering of friends will be Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 1-3 PM at Boma Community Center. She was born in Cookeville February 1, 1970. She was a 1986 graduate of Upperman High School in Baxter. Sherry was employed with the State of Tennessee as a social specialist until her health declined. Survivors include children Candace Leann Jones, Nathan Allen Burton, Christopher Lee Burton, Kendrick Ryan Burton, James Donnie Burton, Cody Lynn Burton and Caleb Burton, father Larry Harris of Baxter, mother Brenda Whitehead Trobaugh of Baxter, sister Dana Lee Hollinsworth, brother and sister-in-law John and Leslie Harris, grandmother Pearl Jernigan Harris of Baxter, several nieces and nephews and a host cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Wenkske. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the family or the funeral home toward funeral expenses.
