Memorial services for Mrs. Sharon Lackey Farmer, age 64 of Baxter will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 24 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home with Bro. Gary West officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon until service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Farmer died Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 16, 1951 in Battle Creek, MI to the late Ridley Williams Sr. and Betty Dilldine Gentry of Baxter. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, George Lackey, brother, Jeffery Williams, and grandson, Joshua Lackey. Mrs. Farmer was retired from Tennessee Tech University where she worked in the office of the Registrar. She is fondly remembered as a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting, blue grass music and spending time with family. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Richard Farmer (whom she married September 15, 2001 in Gatlinburg, TN); son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Pamela Lackey of Baxter; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Ridley Jr. and Sherry Williams, David and Betty Williams, Donnie and Roberta Williams, all of Baxter; five grandchildren, Nicole, Taylor, Brittany, Ashley, and Cody Lackey.
