Sean Allen Bowling, 21, of Cookeville died Friday, September 12, 201 in Queens Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii from a head injury he sustained in a long-boarding accident. Sean was a senior at UT-Chattanooga and was in Hawaii attending the University of Hawaii at Hilo as an exchange student. Sean was born February 11, 1993 in Cookeville to Kevin and Janet Allen Bowling. He had a contagious smile, a mischievous playful manner, and the ability to connect with everyone. Seanʼs interests ranged from music to extreme sports. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, mountain bikes, snowboards, and skateboards. He loved to rock climb, hike, camp, and loved sharing adventures with friends and family. Most importantly, Sean valued his relationship with Jesus. He had a passion for growing in faith, knowledge and in sharing his love for Jesus with those around him. As a student, Sean was involved in FCA, Young Life, The House, and spent his summers during college working at youth camp. In addition to his parents, Sean is survived by two brothers, Wesley and Carson Bowling of Cookeville; grandparents, Bob and Janice Allen and Mary Evans all of Cookeville, step-grandmother, Betsy Bowling of Bridgeport, WVA: aunt, Donna (Scott) Francis of Cookeville, uncles, Eric Allen of Cookeville, Robert Bowling of Orlando, and Charles (Lisa) Bowling of Jacksonville, FL; cousins, James Francis of Cookeville, and Rachel and Mahala Kipp of Jacksonville. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Bowling, step-grandfather, Lee Evans, great-grandparents, Elmer and Myrtrude Allen and Thomas Jefferson and Vera (Dolly) Rayfield. Seanʼs family will host a service celebrating his life and faith Saturday, September 27 at 1 p.m. at their farm, Ebenezer Acres, 1725 Mt. Pleasant Road, Cookeville, TN (ebenezeracres.com).The family will gather to receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time. To honor Seanʼs love of the outdoors and the islands, casual dress is encouraged and Hawaiian shirts are welcome. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Young Life of the Cumberlands, (yluppercumberland.younglife.org) P.O. Box 1222, Cookeville, TN 38503.
