Sara McCulley Parker, 67, of Cookeville, TN passed away on September 18, 2018 at her home. Born in Cookeville on October 3, 1950, Sara was the daughter of the late Harvey and Ova McCulley and the wife of the late Roger Milton Parker. Sara is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Baker, son-in-law, Chip Baker and two granddaughters, Parker and Brooks. In addition, she is survived by her sister Jane McBroom, brother-in-law Doug McBroom, niece Amy and nephew Brian. Sara attended Central High School in Cookeville and Tennessee Technological University. While at Tech, Sara was a proud member of Phi Mu and graduated with a B.S. in Business. After graduating from University, Sara moved to Atlanta and met Roger Parker, the two were married in front of family and friends on December 1st of 1973. Once married, Roger and Sara moved to Milford, Nebraska and Sara worked at Southeast Community College. Sara truly loved teaching business classes in a community college and was devoted to the work of her students. Sara's daughter Jennifer was born in 1981 and at that point, she stepped away from the classroom to devote herself to being a mother. After the passing of her husband, Roger in 1999 and the graduation of her daughter Jennifer from high school in 2000, Sara sought to move home to Cookeville to be with her family and friends. Sara loved boating, gardening, crossword puzzles and bridge. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and travelling. A constant in Sara's life was her love of animals. In accordance with Sara's wishes, the family is not having a service but is reuniting Sara with her husband Roger, who was laid to rest in Lincoln, Nebraska.
