Mrs. Hadlock's family will receive friends Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and again Saturday from 10 am until service time at the church. Mrs. Hadlock passed away peacefully at her home Monday, October 19, 2015. She was born April 4, 1937 in Wytheville, Virginia to the late Carter and Virginia Browning Tyler. She grew up in St. Petersburg, FL and later graduated from the University of Florida, where she met her husband Frank. She graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in Education in 1959. It was at the University that Anne met the love of her life after her friend Nancy (Frank's Sister) invited her to play cards one evening. When Anne arrived she was warmly invited in to the Hadlock home only to learn that Nancy had chosen to take a babysitting job. She was introduced to Frank who was nursing a broken ankle and delighted to have company. Anne's mother later stated that she did not believe for a second that this meeting was not planned. They were married June 18, 1960 and remained by each other's side for 55 years. Anne taught elementary school in Gainesville, FL, Austin, TX, Syracuse, NY and Boca Raton, FL and has made her home in Tennessee for the past 28 years. Anne was dedicated to ministering to others, especially those in need. She was an active foster parent to many children in her lifetime. In the 1970s, she and Frank sponsored several South Vietnamese refugees who lived in their home as family. In Cookeville, she was a founding member and taught children's Sunday school at Grace Presbyterian Church for many years. She currently was a member of First Baptist Church Cookeville but she felt a calling to minister with churches that were just starting up. She also enjoyed supporting and caring for those in the Cookeville Rescue Mission. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Carter Tyler. Her family includes her husband , Frank Owen Hadlock; sons, Tim (Tanya) Hadlock of Franklin, Tom (Judy) Hadlock and Jerry Hadlock, both of Cookeville; daughters, Ashley (Danny) Manus of Baxter and Randella Hadlock of Spencer; grandchildren, Catie Grace, Samuel, Alex, Owen, Zechariah and Paisley Annalee Hadlock; Matthew, Sara and LC Manus and Danielle (Taylor) Pitts; great grandson, Marshall Alan Pitts; beloved cousins, Aggie and Bootsie; and by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tom, Tim, Jerry, Samuel, Alex and Zechariah Hadlock and Danny and LC Manus will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cookeville Rescue Mission. Sara Anne wanted to help those in need and would want those remembering her life to do the same. Matthew 25:45 Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements (931) 526-6111.
