Samantha Marie Santomango, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister, passed away suddenly on June 8, 2023, in Cookeville after fighting a strong and hard battle with Kidney Disease. Born on May 22, 1983, in Presque Isle, Maine, Samantha was a kind, loving, and caring woman who spent her life doting on her children and being a constant presence for her family and friends.
Samantha is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Santomango, whom she married on November 23, 2008. She was a loving "Mama Bear" to her son, Alexander, and daughter, Clarrisa. Samantha is also survived by her parents, Bruce and Sylvia Wallingford, and Wayne Dyer; her brother, Sean and his wife Kalynn and their newborn twins; her sister, Shannon Rene Dyer; and parents in-law, Thomas and Mary Santomango.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Edwina Colcord Dyer, and sister in-law, Tammy Santomango.
Samantha completed her Associate's degree from Southern Maine Technical College in South Portland, Maine. She was an invaluable team member at LabCorp in Cookeville, and left a lasting impact on those who knew her, both personally and professionally.
Samantha was passionate about cooking and spent countless hours in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family and friends. She took great joy in experimenting with new recipes and sharing her culinary creations with loved ones. Samantha's home was always filled with the mouthwatering aroma of home-cooked meals, and her dinner table was a place where family and friends gathered to enjoy good food and even better company.
Samantha's family will welcome family and friends Saturday June 17 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home, and again June 24 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at American Legion Hall, Dunn St., Westbrook, ME. 04092.
In remembering Samantha, we celebrate a life full of love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to family and friends. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who loved her.
