Mr. Salvatore (Sam) Rosetto, age 83, passed away on Thursday evening, September 30, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family in Cookeville. Cremation was chosen per Mr. Rosetto’s wishes. Memorial Services to be announced at a later date are planned to be held at the American Legion Post 170, Three Rivers, Michigan. Sam was born September 6, 1927 in Chicago IL to the late Antonio Rosetto and Patrina LaBarbera Rosetto. He was a veteran of World War II serving two tours of duty in the United States Army and of the Catholic Faith. Mr. Rosetto retired as a Wire Chemist from National Standard in Niles, Michigan and was an active member and past commander of the American Legion Post 170 of Three Rivers, MI. He also served as a district delegate for several years in the forth district and Chef De Gare of the “Forty and Eight”. He is best remembered for his daily crosswords, insatiable games of solitaire and his ability to always bring a smile into the room. Sam’s family includes his wife of 59 years, Mary Jean Hickey Rosetto and five children; Sally and husband Marion Wiseman of Cookeville, Donald and wife Debbie Rosetto of Goshen IN, John Rosetto of Wonder Lake IL, Steven and wife Terri Rosetto of Fort Wayne IN, and Pete Rosetto of Cookeville. He is also survived by a sister, Anna Sewell of Rockford IL, fifteen grandchildren; Stephanie, Kristina, Jennifer, Tina, Pam, Alan, Steven, Elizabeth, Phillip, April, John, Jenyfer, Adam, Saphyre and Conrad; and eighteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents Mr. Rosetto was preceded in death by three brothers; Joseph, August and Tony Rosetto.
